We are excited to go back to the North West area - home of the King Price Race to the Sun gravel grinder. DamDoryn Junction Shopping Centre will be welcoming us for Faces Outride #3. The first part of the route will incorporate the NEW King Price Race to the Sun route and return again along the old route.
Ride #3 is perfect for those training specifically for the King Price Race to the Sun or Cullinan to Tonteldoos presented by King Price events. This is a gravel grinder in the true sense of the word and starts in the parking lot of DamDoryn Junction, Hartbeespoort Dam, at the King Price and Advendurance feathers.
It is a rolling start which means you may start your ride anytime between 06h00 and 07h30 on 27 March 2021. Be there a few minutes early and enjoy a free Enrista coffee on the house!
This time you will also need to bring your SAS board. There is some difficulty linking all data from Strava to SAS and we are reverting back to the tried and tested method of the SAS board. SAS boards will be on sale at the Enrista Coffee Gazebo.
Remember to join our Strava group, @SASeeding, and submit your results within 12 hours of finishing. If your ride is not submitted within the specified time frame, it cannot be taken into consideration.
No spectators or support will be allowed on the route. You should plan to carry everything with you at all times. The Faces Advendurance team will have a sweep vehicle with basic tools and spares en route that will assist with small-scale technical difficulties. Every vehicle will have a first aid kit, Smoove lube, and some basic spares. If you do use any of the spares it will be charged for your account for payment after the ride, please.
Water points will be at 23 km and 69 km.
Faces Advendurance and SA Seeding are hosting a series of training rides throughout South Africa, so watch this space for more information! This initiative will provide great training opportunities at the same time improving your SAS seeding index in time for sporting events due to take place later in the year.
